Not too long ago we heard some evidence that eReaders – specifically Barnes & Noble’s Nook Color – were being snapped up by the world’s womenfolk. Now according to some official numbers from Nielsen, women are buying almost two thirds (61%) of all eReaders sold.

When I think of Steve Jobs, feelings of wonder and absolute awe rush over me. Jobs is without a doubt, the most iconoclastic creative mind of the modern age. If that makes me a fanboy, so be it. If liking Apple Inc. products makes me a fanboy, I’m fine with that too. Jobs is in [...]

As the very last TouchPads leave the dusty shelves they’ve called home for the last month, making their way to consumers cashing in on fire-sale prices as low as $99, HP has announced it will sell its top-of-the-range Pre3 smartphone for just £49 ($80) in Europe only.

I have a confession to make, I’m a history buff. I’m a sucker for historical novels, love a good period drama and, probably most importantly, I read history when I was at university. So it’s really no surprise that as soon as the HP TouchPad made the transition from current product to relic of the digital past, I absolutely had to run out and buy one. Oh, yeah, that and the $100 price tag, which you’d have to be a dodo to ignore.

Hewlett-Packard Co.’s (HPQ) decision to stop making hardware for its webOS platform on the heels of Google Inc.’s (GOOG) proposed acquisition of Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. Wow! Now that was a crazy week for the mobile device market. First Google went all crazy in announcing plans to acquire Motorola Mobility to the chagrin of it seems just about everyone; and just yesterday Hewlett-Packard went even crazier announcing it was basically shuttering its mobile operations including the WebOS business it acquired along with Palm last year for more than $1 billion.
