Taipei, Taiwan – Rumor on the showfloor has it that while Nvidia’s Tegra 2 virtually cleared up in terms of design wins, Tegra 3 might not have the same luck.
“It’s just not living up to expectations,” a source close to the firm told RCR confidentially adding bitingly, “Word is, if you want a good powerpoint presentation, Nvidia is your man!”
“Nvidia seems to have run out of steam, lacks engineers and has come up against a bit of an innovation wall,” our source went on, saying he wouldn’t be surprised if the firm’s CEO, Jen Hsun Huang allowed his firm to be bought by a bigger company sometime in the near future.
“If there was ever a time to get out, for Huang, it would be now,” he added.
Nvidia has been seeing significant yield issues on its chips, which are churned out here in Taiwan by Fab firm TSMC. Even former Nvidia supporter Google seems to have switched its allegiances, with the firm reported to be favoring the Texas Instruments Omap 4 chip for its next Android optimization.

Did you fools see the “Glowball” demo???
Watch it then rewrite your lame article.

What? How can this even be classed as an article? This is a pernicious story based on nothing more than a chat over a slash in the gents between a morally dubious reporter and someone whose handle on reality has been thoroughly snapped off….
Quit publishing this FUD
a slash in the gents, eh? Too bad I don’t use the gents! Also funny that 3 analysts have written to me after reading it telling me I’m right. But thanks for your helpful and constructive comment!
This is very obviously BS. Innovation wall? Nvidia is an entire gen ahead of the competition! Only good for power point slides?Hardly. They actually have the chip up & running beautifully as demonstrated in the glo ball demo. Sounds like your ‘source is a plant for the competition.
Hmm, run a google search for Tegra 3. Every single article except this one is talking up the chip, including quotes that the Nexus 3 is slated to have a Tegra 3 chip. If you do a little research, which is hard, i know, you will see that the Nexus 3 is the Google flagship phone.
The only product that may have dropped a Tegra product in exchange for another one is the Droid Bionic. This rumor is based off of a reported benchmark that lists a powerPC chip inside.
So… I am also calling BS on this article. Especially the part where you say NVIDIA should be acquired by a larger company. An odd statement (speculatory for a supposed news article) considering Nvidia just bought Icera.
I would absolutely love to know where you are getting your information. Perhaps the rep from Texas Instruments? Journalistic integrity thrown to the wind appears to be the concept of the day.
I dont even like Nvidia, as AMD makes a less expensive and better product, but this garbage of an article deserves to be put in its place.
Ok Nate, lets wait and see shall we? Come back and update your comment in 3 months
I’m pretty confident with my info, because I know my sources. Not my fault if other journos do copy paste jobs from press releases calling Tegra 3 awesome sauce. Again, come back in 3 months and then you can virtually shake my hand for calling it early
