We’ve long been critical of Google for holding back Android’s success by restricting developers from most countries from being able to actually sell their apps – instead forcing them to either give them away or not bother with making one.

With developers from a majority of countries cruelly restricted, many have been forced to either release ad supported applications or solely develop for the Apple App Store if they wished to make any money at all for their hard work.

It thereby pleases us no end to hear that Google has finally listened to the pleas of many, announcing that developers from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland and Taiwan can now sell their wares on the Android Market place.

In addition, Android users from 32 countries will be able to buy apps, with the addition of Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Israel, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, and Taiwan to the list.

This news should cause an explosion in the number of applications released for the Android platform and indeed the purchase of many more applications, making it a more attractive platform for developers to target leading to more growth for the already giant Android Market. Great news for the consumer!
