The Mobile Monday Peer Awards at the ten year MoMo Summit in Helsinki, Finland, was certainly an impressive showcase of innovation, passion and mobile creativity but in true mobile irony, it was a ring that won the evening.
That ‘ring’ in question, however, was a physical finger ring pioneered by the Israeli mobile startup Ringbow, which has invented a completely new way for users to interact with their mobile touchscreen by adding another physical dimension to the experience. Watch the video below to see how it works.
Ringbow’s Co-Founder Efrat Barit – or “mistress of the rings” as she was dubbed – won high praise for her presentation, which competed against five other startups in the Future Potential Category, including local wireless charging company PowerKiss, Estonian mobile e-book firm Indilo, French geolocation gaming firm Playground, Norwegian child protecting mobile company Bipper and Palestinian task management firm Do It There.
Israeli firms are no strangers to the limelight at MoMo. This is the third win in a row for Israeli startups at the Peer Awards, much to the Tel Aviv chapter’s pride.
All the finalists including the winner received brand new, not even commercially available Nokia N8 phones, while the winner also snagged 100 hours of free testing from Device Anywhere.
